Mission statement

We want to provide students at Bremen's universities with the economic, social, health and cultural framework for successful studies with our range of services and advice.
Students receive a balanced and affordable range of food, adequate and affordable housing, comprehensive advice on financing their studies and professional application processing, competent psychological advice and a wide range of cultural activities. We support childcare facilities for students' children and provide them with financial assistance. In addition, we support the universities in providing a service-oriented infrastructure.

As a social service provider, we also want to be economically successful. This enables us to fulfill our legal and social mandate in the best possible way.
Our strength is our decades of experience as a service provider for students. With the resulting economic and professional expertise in our fields of activity, we want to remain a partner of the universities in Bremen & Bremerhaven in the future.

Our services are available to all students. This is our contribution to equal opportunities in higher education. Social and international background as well as personal and health restrictions must not be an obstacle to successful studies. We therefore naturally also see ourselves as a point of contact for students in social emergencies or with disadvantages. We respond to their specific needs and develop offers and solutions within the scope of our possibilities.

We want our customers to be more than satisfied with our services. That is why we are consistently service-oriented. We want to recognize changing needs, trends and framework conditions in the university landscape at an early stage, help shape them and continuously develop and improve our services on this basis. For this reason, we work closely with students and universities. We ask them about their concerns, expectations and ideas. We maintain a continuous and intensive exchange with the universities in the state of Bremen, the student unions in the federal states and our umbrella organization, the Deutsches Studierendenwerk.

Qualified and motivated employees who contribute their various skills, experiences and ideas to our company form the basis for our success. Trusting cooperation, mutual respect and appreciation characterize our corporate culture. On this basis, ideas, suggestions and criticism can be accepted and used constructively for the improvement process. Direct and open communication as well as targeted information among each other create the necessary operational transparency. We encourage our employees to maintain and expand their professional expertise through training and further education. We ensure an appropriate workplace design.

We treat the resources of our environment responsibly. Sustainability aspects are a key component in the design of our work processes and our range of services. For example, we attach great importance to the selection of environmentally friendly materials and regional and fair trade products in our procurement. When it comes to energy, water and waste, we consistently conserve resources.

We promote the compatibility of family and career. We support employees who have taken on family responsibilities such as parenting and care within the scope of our possibilities. As a company with a high proportion of female employees, our plan for the advancement of women is a binding guideline for our actions. We promote an appropriate infrastructure for students and employees with children.
