The cultural semester ticket gives students free or heavily discounted admission to theaters, museums and independent stages in Bremen. It offers the approximately 28,000 students in and around Bremen access to the diverse arts and cultural offerings - and numerous opportunities to (re)discover Bremen every day. The cultural semester ticket is financed by the semester fees of the participating universities. The contribution per student is €1.85 per semester. Just like the semester ticket for buses and trains, the offer is "automatic" for all students and does not have to be purchased separately. The student contributions are distributed to the participating cultural institutions and used to organize the project.
Joint sponsors of the cultural semester ticket are the student bodies of the University of Bremen, Bremen University of Applied Sciences, Bremen University of the Arts and Ottersberg University of the Arts, represented by the respective General Student Committee (AStA). General conditions
The cultural semester ticket is valid for students enrolled at the following universities:
- University of Bremen
- University of Applied Sciences Bremen
- University of the Arts Bremen
- University of the Arts in Ottersberg
A valid semester ticket or student ID (or certificate of enrolment + photo ID) is required to use the cultural semester ticket. Eligibility is usually checked by the event organizers directly at the entrance. The discounts of the cultural semester ticket are generally valid at the box office of the respective institution. For performances and events with limited seating (e.g. plays or concerts), we recommend booking in advance via the event organizer's advance booking system. Please note that the advance booking period for the Kultursemesterticket may differ. Unfortunately, students from other universities cannot use the offers of the Kultursemesterticket Bremen. However, many event organizers offer regular discounted admission.
Prices
Admission for students as part of the Kultursemesterticket is - since the summer semester 2023 - free of charge at all institutions or events. Please note that there are regular events or special exhibitions at the participating
partners that are not included in the cultural semester ticket offer. The regular admission price applies for these.
Ticket purchase and reservation
The reduced admission prices apply both at the box office and evening box office and - if available - in advance. It is possible to reserve tickets in advance online or on site for most offers. Please note that not all participating partners offer advance ticket sales and there may be a limited number of discounted seats available.
